Paediactric First AidThis course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the needs of Ofsted. It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School staff (dealing with Foundation Stage) and anybody who deals with children and wants a more in-depth course. The required EYFS syllabus includes:-- First Aid Priorities - Managing Incidents - Basic Life Support-Adult, Child & Baby - Choking - Casualty Examination - Unconsciousness - Anaphylaxis - Fractures - Control of Bleeding & Shock - Asthma - Eye & Ear Injuries - Burns and Scalds - First Aid Kits - Childhood Illnesses including Meningitis & Febrile Convulsions - Regulations - Recording and Reporting
AssessmentCertification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the delegate, there is no final examination. Those delegates who complete the course, and are deemed to have reached the required standard, are awarded a certificate that is valid for three years. |
