The Individual Learning Accounts in Wales (ILA Wales) programme has been designed to encourage individuals to take responsibility for their learning and encourage career development.
Individual Learning Account Wales (ILA Wales)
The ILA Wales award can assist students aged 18 or over with the fees for certain part time courses dependant upon personal circumstances. You must be resident in Wales to claim this grant.
If your income is based upon income related benefits
Award up to a maximum of 100% of fees £200
If your income is based upon employed or self employed
Award Up to a maximum of 50% of fees £100
Income related benefits include:- Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance (income based), Pension Credit (Guaranteed or savings part), Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Working Tax Credit. If you or your partner receive any of the above you can claim the 100% support (up to £200)
Benefit claims will not be affected by an award from the Individual Learning Account Wales and you will not have to repay this award.
Students in the 50% band who already have a qualification above level 2 (GCSE or NVQ 2) will not be able to apply for this award.
Important - you must have applied and been accepted for this award before starting your course.
