First Aid and AED Instructors Course
Course Information |
This course is designed to enable the successful candidate to train and assess Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved First Aid courses and Automated External Defibrillation courses. The course is run over five days and covers two essential areas:
Over the week students will complete elements of First Responder training, to provide a good grounding in the subject matter, over and above that taught on First Aid courses. In addition students will receive training and advice in delivering and assessing First Aid courses. Students will also deliver a minimum of one practical and one theory session each in the course of the week. This will be assessed, and feedback given to the potential instructor, by a senior member of Aid Training.
On successful completion students will be qualified to train and assess First Aid courses for HSE Registered companies. In addition they will be able to run courses such as AED and Emergency First Aid-that don’t at present require HSE approval without any external help. It is important to understand that it is the “company” and not the “individual” that holds HSE approval-there is no such thing as a “HSE Approved First Aid Instructor”.
The instructor qualification may not be a suitable option for everybody, it is well worth contacting us for a no nonsense chat about it before committing yourself to this or any other instructor course. It may in certain cases be that you already meet the criteria to train HSE approved courses and the course may therefore be unnecessary.
Under current HSE guidance those training First Aid at Work must meet, as a minimum, the following criteria:
