Licensed Trade (BIIAB)
Access Training and Consultancy Limited (ACT), delivers a portfolio of courses accredited under the British Institute of Innkeepers Awarding Body. These courses are aimed at employees working within the licensed retail premises. In line with the ethos of continuous professional development, ACT offers a range of courses allowing candidates to progress from Introductory Level up to training suitable for supervisors and senior management.
The BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders
The BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders, has been specifically designed to meet the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. The Act states that anyone authorising the retail sale of alcohol will have to hold a personal licence, and that in order to qualify for a personal licence, an applicant must hold a relevant licensing qualification.
National Certificate for Drugs Awareness
The BIIABNational Certificate for Licensees (Drugs Awareness), provides licensed retailers and managers of all types of licensed premises, from the small country pub to the inner city club venue, with an awareness of the illegal drugs scene.
The National Certificate for Designated Premises Supervisor
The National Certificate for Designated Premises Supervisors (under development), is designed for those responsible for the day-to-day management of licensed premises and who, in line with the Licensing Act 2003, provides the single point of accountability for those premises.
Award in Conflict Management
Incidents of workplace violence can range from the relatively minor problems of people causing nuisance in a premises, for example through unacceptable levels of swearing, to serious incidents involving physical abuse and damage to property. The BIIAB Award in Conflict Management helps staff, whose work involves the provision of services to the public, to avoid and manage conflict within their work environment.
